(Written by Prof. Gaia Hwang)
For the story, I selected a fan fiction which took its title from Lana del Rey and The Weekend's song "Prisoner". I divided the story into eighteen chapters, with each chapter signified by an acrylic "crescent moon". Together the acrylic chips form a lunar phase to guide the audience through the story. Five colors of ropes represent the five main characters, and varied types of knots indicate their actions and relationships. Laser-cut acrylics serve as the objects (translucent yellow as the physical, transparent yellow as the non-physical) and the environment (translucent white). The outcome is a chandelier-like complex of different materials, accompanied by a printed cloth as the "dictionary".
